Director

Indian Institute of Science seeks a distinguished neuroscientist to serve as DIRECTOR of the newly established CENTRE FOR BRAIN RESEARCH (an autonomous centre of Indian Institute of Science). The Centre for Brain Research is dedicated to finding early diagnosis and rational therapies for
neurodegenerative diseases through better understanding of brain function. In order to achieve these goals, the centre will carry out clinical and basic research in human populations and model systems. The centre will have around 15 research groups.

The Director, an institutional builder is expected to provide visionary leadership to this worldclass centre and work closely with the Scientific Advisory Board to define strategic research priorities that will ensure deliverable outcomes. In addition, the Director will also be provided generous funding for research. Expertise in clinical, genetic, and/or epidemiological research related to aging and neurodegenerative disorders would be desirable. Compensation package will be internationally competitive.

Faculty and Postdoctoral Fellows

The Centre for Brain Research (CBR), an autonomous centre of Indian Institute of Science, invites applications for the position of faculty and post-doctoral fellows. CBR is dedicated to finding early diagnoses and rational therapies for neurodegenerative diseases through better understanding of brain function. In order to achieve these goals, the centre will carry out clinical and basic research in human populations and model systems.

Faculty Positions:
Appointments will be at a level equivalent to Assistant Professor or above. Demonstrated record of independent scientific research in the form of peer-reviewed publications is essential. Level of appointment will be based on experience and quality of scientific productivity.

Postdoctoral Fellows:
Candidates with experience in neuroscience including cognitive neuroscience, epidemiology, brain imaging, and computation are encouraged to apply. The fellowship offers the successful candidates a unique platform for professional advancement. Applications for the fellowship are strongly encouraged from those who have recently finished their doctoral dissertation. More advanced scholars will also be considered.
